Industrial Field Painters/Sandblasters and Support Staff

We have immediate positions for experienced Industrial Field Painters/Sandblasters and support staff in our Whitecourt/Bonnyville location (job locations vary throughout the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia). Pay negotiable based on experience.

Perform duties involving all aspects of coating preparation and application in an industrial field setting.

• Abrasive blast and apply paint/coatings to piping, structural steel, vessels, tanks (internal/external) and bridges.
• Working knowledge of coatings application work.
• Operate various power tools in accordance with company safety policies.
• Prepare, operate and inspect blast pots and spray pumps.
• Ensure enough onsite material is available for the day’s operation.
• Ensure Spray Pump Operator is aware of mixing procedures for the particular coating being used.
• Understand and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• Adjust to work-related demands without becoming frustrated.
• Demonstrate willingness for continuous self-improvement.
• Persist at difficult tasks despite unexpected obstacles.
• Seek increased opportunities for responsibility to achieve personal growth.
• Demonstrate conscientiousness and dependability to produce results.

• Other duties as assigned.  

Skills and Experience required:

• Previous spray and blast experience on tanks (internal and external), vessels, piping, structural steel and bridges in the field.
• Familiar with the operating and safety procedures for plural component spray units, airless pumps and conventional spray pots.
• Strong team and customer service.  

Education and Training required:

• Preference will be given to candidates that possess the following safety certificates: CSTS 09, H2S Alive, Confined Space. 

• Aerial work platform, standard first aid, fall protection.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
• Frequent climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
• Required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to wear a full-face respirator for extended periods.
• May be required to work in extremely tight spaces or on elevated platforms.
• Must be able to pass Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Screening.
• Must be willing to work in remote locations for extended periods.
